Join Us in June for 30:30 ... Day 3

03 Radishes
Day 3 - Radishes (using alcohol inks on Yupo paper)
My original painting hasn't gone at all well today and so in frustration I've put it aside until tomorrow. I spent too long enjoying the sunshine after our frosty beginning to the day.
Nevermind, as I fully intend to not only paint my usual landscapes, but also to trial some of these exciting new products. These radishes are done with alcohol inks on a plastic man-made paper called Yupo. The greenery behind was done with felt-tip pens, but I think the alcohol pens would be better there too. However, I didn't have any in the colours I wanted, so had to improvise. The authentic alcohol ink is artist quality and permanent but I don't know the longevity of the felt-tips. I dragged out the roots by dipping a cotton bud in alcohol hand sanitiser.
I did a couple of these paintings recently (see the paintings elsewhere on my website) and will try a few more during this Join Us in June for 30:30 challenge. Check our Facebook page if you'd like to join us. And don't worry about catching up if you start late :-)
Until tomorrow
